Pardon Our Dust! This Page is Still Under Construction!

New Bark Mulch

July 15, 2013
New bark mulch has been spread over many of the bare spots throughout our complex. In addition to looking nicer than bare dirt, the mulch assists in retaining moisture and preventing weeds.

Walkway Maintenance

June 14, 2013
The sidewalks within our complex were recently ground level at the spots where they had risen above the adjoining concrete. We now have smoother, more level walkways.

Clean-Up Day A Success!

May 21, 2013
Community Clean-up Day was held on May 18th. A small but mighty band of volunteers worked hard to spruce up our complex. Bright flowers were planted at our entries, trash was removed, the clubhouse, bathrooms and shower were cleaned as were the lounge chairs at the pool, carport storage bins and light fixtures were swept, light globes were cleaned, and our lampposts were cleaned and painted. Thanks to all community members who came out to make a great day!

Taking Care of Pets

May 20, 2013
A new doggie bag station has been added to the area next to the tennis courts. PLEASE respect the grounds and your neighbors by cleaning up after your dog - we want to keep our complex "waste-free".  There are four bag stations throughout the complex for your use - if you notice a station is out of bags contact us at vermontvillas@gmail.com

New Signs

April 24, 2013
Most of the signs inside our complex have been replaced in the past few weeks. There are new signs on the gate leading to Felicita Plaza, the tennis courts and at the trash bins. And, all the doors enclosing the trash bins were given a fresh coat of paint. New signs at the pool and spa were also recently installed. With our street-side signs facing Vermont Ave. having been replaced last year, we now have almost 100% new signage throughout the complex.

Crime Prevention

March 25, 2013
On March 13, Escondido Police Officer Molly Milliken visited us to give a Crime Prevention presentation. Officer Milliken's talk focused on 'crimes of opportunity', which are the most common type of crimes seen in our area. Most thieves are trying to take something quick, easily and without being noticed. Home burglaries are rare, especially in a gated complex like ours, but thefts from vehicles are more frequent. If you leave your car doors or windows open, or leave valuables in your car, something may be taken and/or your window broken. It's important to 1) Not leave valuables in your vehicle, 2) ALWAYS lock doors and roll up windows when parked, and 3) Park in a well-lit area. And be alert to your surroundings - if you see someone in our complex who you suspect doesn't belong here, don't hesitate to call Escondido Police at 760-839-4722. We are enrolled in Escondido's 'Trespass Arrest Authorization' program, which allows your report to be anonymous.

Wood Replacement Update

February 28, 2013
It's been over a year since we began replacing the wood siding and fascia on our buildings. The siding is being replaced with HardiePanel, a fiber-cement product meant to look like wood but provide greater durability. This work is complete at six of our buildings, with the 1600, 1700 and 1800 buildings the next to get this upgrade. Here's a picture of the work-in-progress at the 1600 building:

Fence Raised

January 23, 2013
The fence at our northwest corner bordering Felicita Plaza has been heightened. The old fence at this spot was only 3' high and presented easy access to our complex; raising the fence will reduce this vulnerability. The cost was shared between Vermont Villas and Felicita Plaza. Here are before and after pictures of the area:

Pool & Spa Fences

December 13, 2012
We now have a brand new fence surrounding our spa. In addition, sections of the pool fence were replaced where needed, and the entire fence was re-painted.  New gates were also installed at both the spa and pool. Residents, please do your part to keep these areas looking great, and make sure to keep both gates locked when not in use.

Repaving is Complete!

November 29, 2012
Our driveways and parking lots were just re-surfaced and re-painted.  This was a multi-month project that included replacing asphalt in certain areas, filling in cracks, re-sealing all surfaces, and re-painting the parking space lines, numbers and curbs.  A big thanks to all residents for your cooperation in making this project a success!

Bushes Removed

November 17, 2012
To allow visibility into and usage of an area of the complex rarely visited, eight bushes next to the tennis courts were recently removed.  Here's before and after pictures of the area:

Repaving, Phase 1

September 13, 2012
On September 5, Eagle Paving performed asphalt patching to specific areas of our driveways. This work completed the 1st phase of the project to patch and resurface our driveways and parking spaces.  Phase 2, to occur in a few weeks, will result in the remaining cracks being filled, the entire paved area re-sealed, and all red curbs, parking space lines and numbers painted.  Our driveways and parking areas should look like new very soon!  Thanks to all for your compliance on the 5th in moving vehicles from the complex.  Vehicles must be moved one more time so that Phase 2 can be a success - watch this website and your mail for a notice of the specific day and times.
